I temporarily deactivated my okc account a few months ago. Have not been online dating. The guys that I came in contact with were either over-eager or, they would disappear after what I thought were pretty good conversations.
From what I understand it is like that on paid sites as well. My best friend has done a gamut of paid sites over the past year and had the EXACT same experiences. She'd go out with guys and they would disappear into then air after a while with no explanation. She did manage to have one short term (2 month) relationship; but we suspect he was married! So yeah, maybe it is online dating in general...Guys online don't seem to feel a sense of accountability for their poor behavior -- maybe because they dont actually think of us as "real" people with feelings.
ETA: I am 5'9" (Turned 33 in May)! Tall girls, unite! The main responses I got from okc were from overzealous guys who were 5'6". Kind of a turnoff; when I specified they have to be over 6'1". Just sayin'. The guy I sporadically date right now (kind of an unfortunate FWB situation)--is someone I have known for 10 years; and he is 6'4".
