There is no such thing as typical skin - we all have different things going on internally and externally that contribute to the condition of our skin. I am not saying that to be mean, but to tell you to pay close attention to your skin and health and not overlook what could be something important because you think it's what all teenagers (or middle-aged ladies, etc) go through.
Having said that, my middle aged, oily skin which is sometimes prone to acne finds oil cleansing helpful and blancing (once you find the right mixture (The Oil Cleansing Method - A simple, cleansing facial massage for clear skin!
)) and african black soap (African Black Soap
) have been very helpful to balance skin and clean out the pores (thus preventing blackheads) and my teenage nephew has benefitted greatly as well).
