Talking Cleansing after a workout?

I have, at the age of 31, finally decided to embrace the curl. I have been given SO much advice from curly friends. Apparently, using a brush was bad? As is washing daily? Using a normal bath towel?

I have my very first hair appointment this weekend with someone who works at a salon that comes highly recommended for curlies. I'm SO excited.

That said, I was all about the idea of phasing out washing every day...till I remembered I tend to work out 3-5 times a week. I'm totally gross afterward - and my scalp (though, I admit, maybe not my hair), needs washed.

So what should I do that will keep me from getting zits on my scalp (it has totally happened) and at the same time keep my hair from being horribly dried out?

Help please!
