I had no idea what is considered 'fat' varies so much. Hmm. I'm thinking of doing a public health course of some sort focusing on obesity. It's an interesting subject.

Clinically, it's strictly defined by BMI (which is kind of bs, since BMI was designed to study populations and it's pretty much useless in determining the health of individuals). I forget the corresponding numbers, but what's considered "officially" obese, for example, is actually much smaller than most of us would think. That anchor could very well be obese by clinical standards.
