The best compliment I ever got was when my hair was much, much longer (like halfway down my back). I was in the ladies' room at a literary reading, and a women with gorgeous straight hair (I think hair of all textures can be beautiful, including straight) said my hair looked pre-Raphaelite. I LOVE those PR
portraits, with the ethereal women with long, long wavy/curly hair. So I was STOKED. It's also one of the reasons I want to grow out my hair again. I got a lot of compliments back then; not so much now. It's much harder to control the poof factor these days.
