Not sure how you decided on what you need??? You say you're confused and I am after reading your conclusions.
The "property" page on nc.com is the only place that I've read about low porosity and not liking protein. You may want to do some reading here: Live Curly Live Free - Home
It's generally coarse hair that doesn't like/need protein. My hair is fine/low porosity and never met a protein it didn't like. I do at least one PT a week and use a lot of products with protein.
Most of us stay away from mineral oil and other petroleum products.
Why do you think milks are light products and gels are heavy???
I never DT. My hair is in such good condition that the shampoo guy at the salon where I go won't condition it! (He just doesn't "get it.")
If your location is humid all year around, you may want to search and try "sealing." It's good a way to maintain the moisture in your hair in really high or low dewpoints.
