But take it out and leave it in the sink the night before. If its a small chicken it will be thawed in the morning. If its just you, try a little Cornish game hen.
Put it in the crock pot with a can of chicken broth. Some cut up carrots, green beans, corn, and 1/4 cup of rice. Leave it on low.
When you come home, take the chicken out and lay it on a cutting board to separate it from the bones. I end up having to use a combination of a ladle and tongs to get it out!
Sometimes it turns into a casserole in there, but whatever!
Once you get started you'll feel more comfortable with it, and cooking isn't so scary. You don't have to be a gourmet, just cook to eat! And if you don't over do the butter and cream its much healthier!
