Thanks, Triple_Spiral, I have been wondering the same thing myself - I avoid protein like the plague, hair hates it - but maybe I occasionally need some! Hard to find the right balance, huh? I will do an egg and mayo treatment today and see if it helps....my hair is not at the fuzzy stage, it just won't keep the style I put it in ;p so it is definitely soft! And I definitely am lacking crunch! lol! I am still learning how to live with my curls...they are very demanding!
I avoid proteins as well, in my styling, shampoo, and conditioners - but I still need protein every now and then, which I get in the form of a treatment every couple of weeks. If you can get your hands of Repair Me, that is a really good treatment that actually doesn't tangle or make my hair rough at all....awesome results. If homemade, I used to use yogurt (never tried mayo) mixed with honey, olive oil, and conditioner.
Triple_Spiral, I did the yogourt/honey/EVOO/mayo mix today...first I clarified with BS and ACV, then did the protein pack, then followed up with coconut oil, then shampoo and condish. My roots are looking good (only dry bits so far! lol!) and I feel really clean and conditioned, so I think your were on the money...it feels like it needed the protein. Glad I followed up with the coconut though, cause when I rinsed out the protein, my hair felt soooo dry! Thanks for your input...Now I have to try and find the Repair Me!

My hair officially hates protein Once a month is enough!
Currently a fan of TiGi products, (rock on, TiGi Curlesque styling creme!) but that will soon change - I am a self-avowed product junkie! Yay!
BIG fan of supersoaker method - thanks Rudeechick!
