However, none of these are really all that effective, so I take a daily pill to prevent migraines. It works great for me. Propranolol, which is also sometimes prescribed for anxiety, but is most often used as a blood pressure medication.
Inderal was one of the first prophylactics prescribed for me. It was very effective, but I didn't like it because I had a difficult time getting my heart rate up during a work out and since I was an exercise nut at the time, I switched medications.
