Just did my 2nd henna melt. What a disaster! Hair breaking off and dry as the desert. Don't know what I did differently this time. But that's it. No more henna. It's gray hair or color out of a box. I'll try deep conditioning it 2x a week and if that doesn't work, I may have to cut it all off.

I realized what I did wrong. I had been using a conditioner with cones in it. Last time I clarified my hair and then lightly conditioned it BEFORE doing the henna melt. This time I didn't do that. So the combination of the cones and the melt made my hair dry, tangled and frizzy. Also, the color didn't take as well. I cowashed today and used my busy izzy gets buttered up and my hair seems ok.
