I apply coconut oil to dry hair, right before bed. It washes out just fine with a co-wash the next morning (I use V05 Kiwi Lime). Granted, I usually have to use a bit more conditioner than usual and spend a little more time massaging it into the length of my hair, but it works. After my hair dries, it's shinier and softer than normal, but not greasy-looking at all. I don't use gobs of coconut oil - just enough to create a sheen on my hair.
