Cage or not, I wouldn't leave a tame pet out to fend for itself like that.

I even pull over and feel out the situation if I see a loose dog. And I'm scared of loose dogs.

I carried an injured squirrel in a MacDonald's drink tray to the vet hospital once.

Because no one is trying to get fleas/plague/maimed? lol
Also, the animal could get more harmed in your car. A friend of my Dads picked up a stray kitten he found. It went nuts in the car, and wound up getting stuck under the brake pedal. Not a happy ending.
Oh no! I didn't see this before. How sad It is a horrible learning experience. I didn't think we were ever going to get my friends car cleaned. Luckily, it was minor injuries but the car looked like a crime scene.

So I ended up being stuck at work for 14 hours today because my co worker was late. She was only going to be 30 min late, but that turned into 2 hours. I was not pleased, but other than that and bunny drama, it was okay. I found a good nail polish sale
