I do co-wash some, but I low-poo every week. In the summer I do it more often!
Here are my drug store products:
Shea Moisture (very low poo)
Organix Shea (more cleansing low poo)
Johnson's head to toe for clarifying - (low sls, and I mix it with my low poo or some oil or condish to protect my hair. Really any sls poo with no cones would work, this is just what I had on hand!)
RO's: (skipping co-washes since you don't use them!)
GVP conditioning balm (from Sally's)
Ion reconstructor (from Sally's)
Vo5 Shea cashmere MIXED WITH
Shea Moisture Masque
I'm soon going to try Giovanni - I hear it's a great line.
I also add oil and ACV (and sometimes honey) to my RO to use it as a DT.

Sometimes I use a little GF flexible hold hair spray to perk up my curls.

I also have other things I use on occassion for my hair's special needs - lol! Treatments, oils... That sort of thing. Let me know if you need any of that info. I don't know your hair properties or needs (protein, etc).
Keep in mind I don't use ALL this stuff at one time!! Lol!! Pick one from each category! Lol!! (maybe two with the stylers).

And one more suggestion - maybe try the cut with a few added layers and see how your hair acts for a while before you decide on drastic changes in CGing or style. That way you can determine if it's mainly the length causing you issues or what!
And if you do go with cones and decide you don't like it - it's not starting over! You just wash once and go back to CG. It's not like your hair goes back to how it was before you ever started CG!
