I do agree that it wasn't a good move and I feel extremely dumb about it. I guess my thought process was "no kids, I'm not trying to go ahead of the bus, this isn't passing I'm still behind the bus". I was close to it, and it is possible from where the cop was to think that my front had passed the back a little bit. Lesson learned, I'll be keeping a good distance from now on...
