Don't use sulfates, just coca. betaine in my Renpure red bottle shampoo. It's a low-poo with coca betaine second on the ingredients list, so it cleans very well! I never have any buildup, yet I also find it doesn't strip at all.
I don't PT because I have very coarse hair! I can use products with keratin, though, and my hair likes that. For a DT, I use the Joico Balm in a blue squeezy tube. It's heavy but my hair loves it! Like I said, I have coarse hair that looooves moisture. Cones help make it smooth and shiny, rather than horse hair-like.
I try to use products that are a good mix between natural and cone-y. Most of my products have a good bit of oil and such in them, too.
