A couple of years ago I bought an 'emergency' Studio 35 (?) kabuki brush similar to the one in the Kirkland/Borghese kit for about $5 at Walgreen's, of all places, and I'm amazed at how good that thing is! I was on a trip and had accidentally left some of my brushes at home and I bought it as a multi-purpose brush to use in a pinch.
It's real hair of some sort, though who knows what? Doesn't shed at all, works great. It's just as good as one of similar shape and size that I paid nearly $50 for.
