Default Is there an exception to the rule?

my approach to being sulfate free is if the bottle says sulfate free then its sulfate free.

i was looking at a cowashing product that says sulfate free and online its filed under sulfate free, but when i looked at the ingredients it says methosulfate. well it really said Behentrimonium Methosulfate.

i immediately put it back and was just like no. so this has been bothering me for a while now.

also this same product was filed under silicone free. i read some where cant remember the site, but the rule is if it ends it "one" the its a silicone or something like that.

Are there exceptions to these rules?
