i had to do this once about 25 years ago with a boyfriend, it wasn't pleasant, but it was necessary.
he played basketball on Wednesday nights and i left work early, and had a locksmith meet me at my apartment to install a new deadbolt while i packed up his stuff.
then i called one of his friends to come get everything. the guy arrived with surprizing speed - it seems my ex had a habit of getting into relationship "scrapes" like this and his friends were used to it.
it didn't end well; the guy started stalking me and he landed in jail for it.
but i got out of it - the hard way.
it was worth it to me.
