Yes, especially in low dew points. People who react to glycerin get the exact same issues. Some people can only use glycerin in moderate dew (40-60ish). Some can't use at all. And it does sound like you live in an area with lower dew points during the winter. Glycerin essentially moves moisture from where there's more to where there's less. So in a humid environment glycerin would pull moisture from the air into your hair. But in a very dry environment it would actually pull the moisture out of your hair, causing many of the same problems that are associated with protein sensitivity.
