I think it depends on what look you are going for. I have 2c on my canopy and sides, and 3a under all of that. If I put stuff in SOAKING wet, it weighs everything down and makes everything a LOT straighter, more wavy than curly. I also agree that applying wet means my hair doesnt absorb any product, as the water dries off, it looks like I didn't even put anything on. So, I scrunch moisture out after I shower. I add leave in first, then scrunch water out, apply curling gel/creme (SM smoothie or KCCC) and then FSG or KCSS.

Home Made FSG, followed by SM Smoothie, Plop, then AG Curl trigger, and diffuse. Finish with SM Hold and Shine spray.
Always wash upside down.
