I have not tried a denman, but I can say in the shower after I detangle with a wide tooth I then comb with a fine tooth. If I do not, I tend to have more frizz. I'll have hairs that are caught up within the clump that after drying become frizz. The fine tooth helps to pull those back down into the clump - I'd assume a denman would have the same effect.

So in some cases (like mine) a denman does help with frizz.

However, I only use this comb in the shower with condish. Then I add more water and finger comb and scrunch. I just rake and scrunch product in after that.
