I also have some one strand knots. But I actually do nothing about it. When I have split ends, I let them trim, but if I would cut all my one strand knots out my hair would not possible grow. I don't know how others think about that?
But you can do some things to prevent them I guess. Things like protective styling, sealing your ends, sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase etc.
