DevaCare One Condition did wonders for moisturizing my hair. Her hair looks like it could definitely use some help there. If she's scared of gels, maybe a jelly would work better for her. Something like As I Am Curling Jelly (found at Sally's). It still provides decent hold and definition without feeling too product-y. I use it in the spring and summer. In the fall and winter, I switch over to Aussie Instant Freeze gel because it works better in low dew points. Gels and Jellies create a crunchy cast over the hair, BUT you're supposed to scrunch it out once your hair dries so it's soft and doesn't feel product-y. A friend of mine is always ohhing and awwing over how soft my hair feels all the time. So tell your mom to experiment a bit. The mousse might be drying out her hair a bit. It looks kinda frizzy. She really might want to stop using the towel too. Good luck!
