Yes like dee-nature mentioned, it'll change. How much it changes depends on shrinkage. The perm hair weighs down the strands making our curl pattern appear looser. I'm transitioning too, but I've cut quite a bit of perm here and there and the curl definitely shrinks back...I'd say about 40% maybe.

Curl definition can be very easily disrupted, even drying your hair with a towel can make it fuzzy and undefined. If you're transitioning try to focus on combining the two hair textures (braids work well) this way you give it its definition. If you're already doing this and it's frizzy more often than not, you might be using products that do not work well for your hair.
