Salon pricing always seems so random to me. I'm new-ish to a city and trying to find a curly stylist for the first time. I found two places that do Deva cuts so far... one has the Deva cut starting at $120, the other has it starting at $60. These salons are literally three blocks from each other. Seriously?! What makes that one place two times better than the other? (interestingly, the curly stylist at the cheaper salon gets rave reviews, while the pricier one gets tepid ones).

I do understand charging more for dense hair though. It does take longer to cut, and the stylist/salon could be making more money by doing two thin heads. I have always been charged more for cuts too, so I don't really bat an eye at it anymore.

Being charged more for cutting long hair, though... that's crazy!!
