You know, whenever I've read of anyone having a "flat top" it's usually the less curly types, it even happens to me sometimes but then I'm happy with just getting some wave at the top, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to help. So if any other 3C/4As are reading and have suggestions please jump right in!

In any case, first I have some questions for you: is this the way your hair always is or is it just behaving like this recently? What is your usual routine? Do you shampoo and with what and how often? Or are you on CG? (Also please mention what CO(s) you use).

Next, right off the bat I'll tell you that LOOB's heavy consistency flattened out my delicate fine hair. I just used it on Saturday for the 2nd time and I had to work hard to get all my hair to recurl. It also did not help clumping at all, especially after all the manipulating I had to do to distribute it evenly, etc. The only good thing it did for me was to stretch my short curls, something I welcome after all the trimming I had to do to fix a bad cut I got. So if this only happened after trying this that could be the reason; a lighter product, at least in the root area, would probably work better for you.

I don't know if this could work the same for you but I got way better clumping and definition with a mixture of Organic Root Stimulator Lock & Twist Gel mixed with Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera Gel, which btw is a very moisturizing combination.
