Since I'm unsure about your hair type, I'll give a few transitioning tips. I've been transitioning for 9 months and it's quite the experience. Be patient. Transitioning isn't the easiest trek. Resist the heat styles as much as possible or don't use heat at all. Keep your hair moisturized, your hair will thank you Deep condition weekly or biweekly, (I DC every weekend, just personal preference). Wear protective styles like buns, updos, and hair wraps. If you bun it, don't stress your hair by making it too tight. & if you wear a hair wrap/turban, use silk or satin scarf before using a cotton or polyester scarf (the cotton takes moisture out of your hair). Try low manipulation styles like braidouts, twistouts, and bantu knots. Wrap your hair at night with a silk/satin scarf. If scarfs aren't your thing, buy a satin pillowcase. Trim your ends when necessary. Try your best to use Curly Girl friendly products (no sulfates, silicones, etc). Use wide tooth combs, or finger detangle your hair. Don't rush through detangling, it may cause breakage. Be gentle around your line of demarkation (where your natural and relaxed/heat damage hair meets), that's where the hair is most fragile. When washing/cowashing your hair, section your hair in 2 or 4's. Drink lots of water and eat healthy c:
