Hair is hair. It doesn't matter what your racial composition is. As said above, it's all about the properties. Curl type is relatively unimportant (generally speaking, the tighter the curl--the more fragile the hair.) Here's a link to help you with yours Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics
Once you determine your properties, look for folks with hair like yours and see what they use (it's the best place to start.)
As rainboe said, your pictures look like you've done something to pull out your curls. She also suggested that you read some of the stickies at the top of the forums--read and learn. It's the best thing you can do. It will also help you to take care of your daughter's hair.
