I'm sure it's because of porosity that my hair dries quickly. Especially considering I'm coarse and dense. That said, I've noticed the densest part of my hair, the back towards the middle where tons of hair is springing off the back of my head, takes the longest to dry. My roots dry fastest. Sometimes I have to wet them down when I'm styling. And my roots are pretty thick. Poofy actually. Also have to say the arid climate plays a role. When there's next to no moisture in the air, your hair is going to dry pretty fast. I suspect once the temperature starts reaching the 90s-100s this summer my hair will dry in a nanosecond. At least that's something to look forward to.
