Yes but dandruff and dry scalp are two different things and sometimes people mistake one for the other. Also not to go off on tangent but my brother had a case of acne when he was in high school. I did a lot of research into the subject at the time because common drugstore products designed for acne, most of which contain salicylic acid, tended to make the problem much worse. It would dry out his skin causing more oil to rise to the surface causing more breakouts. That's why it's an iffy ingredient for me and I wish it wasn't in there so I could try that line too. As someone whose skin is relatively normal but always on the dry side, for me the key to preventing dry skin (and I guess this would extend to my scalp too) has always been a bit of oil and moisture.
