There is no scientific distinction between hair "cream" or "creme" and "conditioner." Generally speaking, I would imagine that a "cream/creme" is heavier and more moisturizing than a "conditioner" but any ingredients could be found in either category so the classification doesn't tell you anything.
There is no one product we can recommend. If there were one amazing product that worked for everyone under all conditions... this site wouldn't exist. Everyone would just buy that one product. So you'll have to figure out what works for you.
The best way is to read up on curly hair basics and figure out your hair properties. Here's a great informative website.

Read up on the newbies section of the forum as well, and about "dew points and humectants" and "moisture/protein balance." You can use the search function to look up articles and threads on the topics.
After you've figured out your hair properties, you can try looking around this site for curlies w/ similar hair properties, and see what they are using.
