Egg proteins are too large to penetrate the hair and likely too large to stick to the surface, it will simply wash away when you are done with the treatment so it's not really a protein treatment at all. If you are getting beneficial results from egg with coconut oil I would suggest that is down to the high concentration of lipids - lauric acid in CO, palmitic and oleic acids in the egg yolk, possibly the lecithin/ cholesterol too.

Try doing a gelatine treatment if you want DIY protein, that contains hydrolysed collagen which are small enough molecules to penetrate and stick to the surface.

Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
