Product wise. Shampoos that have the word sulfate you want to pass on. You are looking for coco betaine which is usually found in health food shampoos or cream of nature or other brands will see no sulfates on shampoo.
For conditioners, you want products that don't have words ending in cone or xane. Amodimethicone is a water soluble cone so it may not give you trouble in het hair. I would skip the other cones though.
The other things such as proteins and emollients depend on her texture (fine, medium, coarse) and porosity. I am thinking but could be wrong that her hair is medium texture and normal porosity. This means she should be able to use most products. I would skip the mousse and stick with gel. You may also want to stay away from products that have glycerin as one of the top three ingredients. Glycerin can rob hair of moisture in humid and dry climates.
