Have you tried the CG route and avoiding sulfates and silicones? Mixed Chicks is not CG and will probably not offer enough moisture. I would either try conditioner washing with Suave Naturals or a sulfate free shampoo and then follow up with Tresseme Naturals, Shea Moisture, Curls or another CG conditioner. You could still follow the tightlycurly method. If she still needs moisture then try using Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner as a weekly deep conditioner or as needed.

I think you may be slightly overwhelmed, but start simple. Her routine is the same as a straight hair person, but without sulfates and silicones and you don't dry her hair with a regular towel or comb/brush it once it is in a style or beginning to dry. I hope that helps.
