In my experience, those resort-type amenities don't get used as much as people think they will. I've also found that places with that stuff always seem to be overrun with kids. However, being within a short walk to things you will use (bars, restaurants, shopping, etc) is invaluable. If it were me, I would look for a place that's nice enough and in a great location, but cheaper.
