Yeah don't pull so tightly. I had to re-train my hands for when I do braid outs, they can't be as tight as they would be if I were leaving them in for a while or with extension hair like I did back in the day.
I like to use almond oil to take my braids down, just a little to give some slip on the hands. I tend to do 26-30 braids because it lasts longer but it's not so many that it takes a long time to take them down.
I recommend watching KinkyKurlyQueen on YT, her braid-out videos were very helpful for me towards getting better results. And her hair is pretty so that's more motivation to get good at them, lol.
4a/3c, fine strands, low porosity, medium density
