Not really. You could only use one, but use it twice--once for washing (rinse out) and then again for conditioning (rinse out or leave in). Most people use more than one because they like something lighter for washing and then heavier for conditioning, but if you find something you like that will work for both, use it!
On the TJ's TTT, I've never tried it as a leave in. If you have a sensitive scalp, I think it would be best rinsed out.
ETA: Conditioners don't clarify. I don't know why they put "clarifying" on the label, except maybe it's to indicate that it's supposed to go with the clarifying shampoo.
