Yep, I live in FL, and for me, I have to avoid glycerin in my stylers. The smoothie was good for me in the winter, but also left my hair feeling producty/ tangly. I've also stopped using a leave-in- I concentrate on conditioning my hair in the shower using rich products like curl junkie curl rehab or repair me. I also do weekly overnight coconut oil soaks on dry hair.

After I get out of the shower I apply a slimy curl enhancer (and lots of it) - usually okra gel or FSG, Uncle Funkys Curly Magic, or Spiral Solutions CEJ. Then I do a second layer of a hard hold gel (I have so many, in my regular rotation are LAL sport gel, Dep sport, MGA styling gel, BRHG, GVP liquid sculpting gel).

I plop for about 10 mins the diffuse to about 80% dry. Once bone dry, I SOTC. I have very little frizz issues using my routine.

The most important step in my routine is my slimy product, middle layer. If I skip that, my hair never looks that great. More ramen noodle like, I prefer clumps.
