Beneficial ingredients for damaged hair include coconut oil, hydrolysed protein, ceramides, 18-MEA and panthenol. Be careful not to weight your hair down/ get build up with proiducts containing ingredients like shea butter - your leave in conditioner should be rich in fatty alcohols and/ or cationic surfactants and you want to use a good amount.

Plopping for half an hour seems a while for someone with wavy hair unless its very thick/ low porosity. I find getting hair too dry makes it straighter and/ or frizzier, especially the underlayers which are in closer contact with the fabric and can be finer.
