It did make think of the numerous times my dad had some sick leave he had to use before the year was up. He would tell mom that he was taking me to school, she would leave, he'd pick up the phone and tell them I was deathly ill. Haha. We'd spend the day having tea parties, going for rides, and eating ice cream. He often worked long hours and had to miss most of the activities (talent shows, etc) I was in, so that was our father/daughter time together. I loved it. I can't say the same for mom. He knew he was in trouble when she found out and came in yelling his full name.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??
