I'm struggling to understand when to actually do a protein treatment. I usually greenhouse it, with my hot oil treatment pre-poo? I'm not sure if that's going in the right direction.

I realized I need to work on my moisture/protein balance. I've researched and recently learned that I was over conditioning my hair, so I've been doing a better job with moisturizing; but, I'm still having issues with protein. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to put an end to split ends, knots, dryness, & shedding.

->Length~Medium (curly & straight)
->Porosity~Low
->Density~High
->Medium thickness and volume
