Ugh! Don't even ask. Right now I am making about 1/3 of what I was making 5 years ago. 7-8% cut from that would be a dream job at this point to me.
That happened to me too several years ago, or at least nearly. I had been laid off, and the job I took paid almost half what I was making at the company that laid me off.

In a normal, non-layoff situation, I wouldn't take a paycut. At all. There's no such thing as "the perfect job".
