Since many are posting their past experiences, I had my hair highlighted with Redken for years, and my hair was always fried afterward.

I got all-over color from an Aveda salon three times, and the third time left my hair really dry. Also, when my color faded, my hair looked very processed as I grew it out.

That's why I switched to RC color, to use something more gentle (because it deposits color only, no lifting color) that, when it fades, leaves my natural color behind rather than the highly processed fluff the other brands did. If only the RC was easier to get to stay bonded to my grays without having to follow such a strict routine for a few days before and a week afterward (I have very color-resistant grays).
