Is this an old wives' tale?
I would think it's just an old wives tale. I have never had problems with cramps, bloating, severe PMS or anything like that, and I conceived on the first try both times. I thinkt hat fertility has more to do with the mother's health and maternal age. conception is all about timing. you have to know when your fertile time is, or it's just not going to work.
