I over-trimmed my bangs.. they were due for it, but I cut a little too much. Now I have the Stoney Jackson curly pageboy cut.. I think I'll be wearing my bangs pinned back til they grow out a bit longer.

Default Bangs trimmed

My inspiration was Folake

I like my shorty bangs now.. they grew on me. And they WILL grow longer soon enough.

Thanks ladies! I am actually really happy with the length of them now.. I will probably keep this style up for a while.

ETA: I must have done something right.. I work in a small law firm, and all three of my attorneys mentioned my hair today. They never usually notice or mention my hair when I do other styles like knot outs, buns, or my banana clip ponys, but I guess they like this look..lol.

Bekkapoo ur hair looks gawjus! Please give me the deets, those attys know what they're talking about. Ur hair looks fab. I recently tried using tressame naturals as a leave in, CG method, and I'm so not feeling this dryness.

Thank you! Your hair is pretty fly as well! Btw, Tresemme started drying my hair out after a while using it as a leave in. I switched to Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine, but maybe if you add a little oil to the Tresemme it will make it a little less drying.

Deets: Cutting Bangs in Natural Hair!!! - YouTube

I followed this method, and it worked like a charm. A co-worker who used to be a hairstylist said that if you want the bangs to be a tiny bit layered cut them at a perpendicular angle to your face (i.e. straight out) instead of pulling down, and they'll have more body that way. Next time I trim, I'll try that and see how it works.

Thank you so much for those tips. Now if I can get a great hair day at work too, all will be well in the universe!

I want bangs so much! But my forehead is so tiny and the hair that would be my bangs are not compliant! They would just stick up straight in the air.

Today I wore my hair in a wash n go. I used Mixed Silk leave-in and gel for the first time.

My first impression was good. I liked how smooth the leave-in was in my hair. I also liked the thicker, goopier gel. I was worried it would make my hair either too defined or too frizzy. I was also worried it was going to dry flat and not have much volume.

My perfect wash n go look is hair that is fluffy and big with just the right amount of definition and frizz. Not ultra defined and frizz free because that can look a little too 80s jheri curl.

It seems to deliver. I liked my curl definition and I liked how it still looked fluffy and soft. My boyfriend commented that my hair looked "extra lamb-like" today. My hair was also HUGE without being unmanageable or uncooperative (you know what I mean?).

You're welcome.. I'm sure your hair looks great (don't be so hard on yourself).

I have achieved fro-ness today!

I washed my hair last night with Creme of Nature, then conditioned in the shower. After rinsing, I applied a tiny bit of conditioner to leave in (I'm talking about a quarter size for my whole head), and air dried. Hair dried in about 1.5 hours in a big fluffy afro and I love it! I'm rocking it again today. When it comes time to detangle I'll have to be extra gentle.
