This is how I'm wearing my hair today it's 2nd day hair from a wash & go. & I clipped some of my hair back. Happy Thanksgiving
Very prettay! What 3C mix are you?

It's amazing how we can have the SAME curl type (or whatever) and have COMPLETELY DIFFERENT textures, shrinkage and everything.

Your hair is so long and lovely with looser curls ..my ringlet spirals are so TIGHT. I want them to fall
Tell me about it! But Curly Girl, I think you're more of a 3b.

Lucky you. I'm going to try braid outs next

My hair texture HATES certain twist. I've done small, medium and even kinda large size.

I be lookin' like a HORRID mess

I can sort of relate to that; that's why when I do twists I either where my beanie over them OR I pin the twists themselves into a style so that my ends won't unravel. Darn this crazy 3b hair in my head.

I've never done a braid out. I'm thinking about flat twists for next week.

Thanks : ), you all have beautiful curls.
The hair typing thing confuses me, my hair curls differently every time. & yea I think texture & porosity matter more than curl type.

I've been using this technique a lot lately:
YouTube - 3 Hairstyles For Unruly Hair

It sort of looks like a French braid but it's not.

I'm wearing it HUGE! I had a twist out all week. It looks like '80s hair, and I <3 it!

A twist out.

Except I have the front pulled into a "bump" and the back portion that's left out pulled into a messy bun.

Default My first successful Flat Twist variation - Friday

3 Large Flat Twists on the right side, 3 tiny flat twists bangs on the left sweeping my face. The rest wash and go curls and coils. Flower head band to accessorize

The more I'm learning about my hair it's confirmed that I gotta do what works for me...

This is my wash and go...it turns into a curly fro basically.

I'm learning hair stretching techniques now. Which twists work and which twist don't...

Thanks! It wasn't quite dry yet. When dry it shrinks up a bit more (see my avatar).

I'm not exactly sure what your question means, but do you mean at what point did my hair start falling down instead of up/out? I never BC'd (I transitioned for a long time), so my curls have always fallen down, but they are definitely going down a lot more now as opposed to out, and this is recent. So I would say around shoulder length dry? If that's not what you meant let me know.

Your curly fro is really cute!

Thanks for the compliment. I wish my curls were looser and fall like yours but that's the beauty of individual natural journeys. Accepting your hair as it is and working with the beauty that you do have as God intended.
Oh okay, you transitioned. I did the big chop.

I pineappled my braid out last night and didn't like how it looked this morning, so I combed my hair out, applied Oyin Shine & Define, and dry twisted my hair...experimenting...

A bantu knot out. It worked out a lot better this time, my first attempt was a hot mess that resulted in an up-do.
