Help me with nighttime cowashes...
Hey y'all!! I haven't been here in forever because you ladies and gents were encouraging my PJism. I blame you not, however, because my product exploration led me to Deva products, away from Deva products, to EcoStyler, away from EcoStyler, and I'm back again to the EcoStyler. It has unbeatable definition and shine and yummy frizz prevention for me.
HOWEVER, I've recently switched to nighttime showers. Getting up at 530...or at least trying to...didn't work for me. But now that I'm cowashing at night, I have NO idea what to do with my hair. Twist outs, braid outs, flat twits, etc. simply cause inordinate amounts of tangling. Trying to get more than a few days out of it? My crown area begins to loc
I'm not sure why, but that ALWAYS happens. How can I keep my really nice, defined curls without destroying it with frizz and/or tangles

Do you use a satin bonnet or pillow case to help preserve the style and cut down on frizz? You can try that.

The satin bonnet's cool; I sleep with one. But even then if she's anything like me there's still issues with tangling. I'm trying two strand twists more but I hate how they look on my head since my hair's so short so I'm more into wash and gos (which are just ASKING for tangles). So even then that might not be the full solution.
I'm curious now. I'm sure there's another way to help. Arghhh...
Oooh! Is your hair long enough to pineapple?

I'm not fully natural yet, but I just let my hair dry in a low ponytail, I sleep on a silk pillowcase (both for hair and skin). Then in the morning I put a little conditioner and water in it at the sink to smooth tangles, then I just scrunch up the curls.

Got some kind of curly bangs going here! And I think my bangs are all natural!
I think that my natural hair is somewhere between a 3b and a 3c, I hope it's not too soon to tell!

Yes, I've used a satin bonnet and/or pillowcase for the 3yrs I've been natural. To me, all it does is keep my hair from drying out. The frizz still prevails. Last night I tried conditioning, added product, then put my hair in a very loose low ponytail. Afterwards I put it in a t-shirt plop. I put my satin bonnet over it and just went along my way. I watched Teen Mom 2 then went to sleep in it.
This morning I had some REALLY great curls. They went "down" instead of out because I slept in a downward plop and a ponytail. They're soft and not so crunchy, relatively frizz free...I'll post pictures in a few minutes.
I'm open to more suggestions, but I think I just found my solution. Amazing what that little search tool can do...

The results!
Lacks some shine, but I'm out of olive oil, so I've been shine-less for a few days :/

Right now I'm loving the ECO Styler Gel with the Olive oil. I had problems with crunch and all before but now I've found a good combo. I put coconut oil underneath it. Then I shingle it in my hair and then add in Shea Moisture's Curl enhancing smoothie on top. Leaves hair white at first but dries shiny. I LOVE IT!!! I get amazing definition and like 6 day hair. to sleep at night I do four big flat twists with the Shea MOisture stuff and in teh morning i take them down with the same shea moisture stuff. My bad hair days are over. I hope it lasts. it's been a good 2 weeks and I'm loving it. Gives great shine too. I wash my hair at night so as to go so sleep with the 4 flat twists. I got the idea of the twist from youtube's sweeteababy0427. the video is called flat twist pattern. I also got the idea of the Eco and Shea Moisture combo from youtube's naturalcurlz86. check them out.
