Best dye for curlies?
Hey what's up everyone,
I really want to dye my hair for a fresh summer look. What's the best dye for 3C/4A curlies? Of course I don't want damage, so I want to filter out any dangers out there. Has anyone ever tried Aveda hair dye? If so, did you like it? I read Aveda is plant-based but every dye regardless still has ammonia. I'm told that although Henna is also plant based, I will not see a drastic change in color. Then there are dyes out there that will completely change the structure of your hair, making it brittle. I really want to get highlights but if it's too much of a risk..shoot I will use those beauty store hair color spray if I have to. |
Hi!! My hair is 3C and it's blonde! I use Dark & Lovely it doesn't have ammonia and it's really good! You can find it in Sally's !! Good Luck!

sorry for guano. If you arent looking to lighten, i suggest a coloured gloss. Well actually, although ive read they deposit color.. the woman at the salon lightened my roots with a gloss. Im incredibly confused. Lol But i think glosses are great, it really gives you shine, and a bit of color if you like. Though it does wash out after a month or two (which i wasnt told..darn stylist). hth somehow.. lol |
I have fine porous hair, but I've lightened it a few shades with Sun-In.. terrible stuff, but it doesn't seem as damaging as using box color.
It does dry out my hair, so I am dc-ing with protein a lot more (minimum once a week). |
I started using Dark & Lovely to get it blonde with out messing it up! It came out a bright honey, after i got to that point I used loreals bleach and it came blonde almost white lol!!! I used Loads of conditioners and cut a little of my ends just in case!!! Then I used dark & lovely just in my roots and sometimes loreal bleach!!! I've been blonde since I was in kindergarten but that's another story!! Lol good luck if anything let me know!!! I can take pictures of the boxes and stuff!
