Porosity, Texture and Curl--Oh My!

In my 2nd week on CG and loving it.

I think I have 3b curls, definitely a "corkicelli" by L. Massey's guidance, but lately I'm hearing more and more that it's all about Porosity and Texture. So...HELP! I don't know how to determine what porosity and texture I have! I've heard reference to a strand test, but I don't know what that means!

I have pretty thick hair, well-hydrated and soft. Limpness is a problem more than frizz (although on off days I definitely have the halo). Celeb twin would be Emmy Rossum. I kind of feel like I have straight-hair hair that happens to curl. Texture-wise it feels more like my straightie friends than my fellow curlies. Hair likes gentle, once-weekly wash (Burts Bees, no sulfates, 'cones, or parafins), protein, and diluted coconut oil.
I highly recommend the Live Curly Live Free Hair Analysis

I tried the at home tests and never got conclusive results. The hair analysis gave me results that were accurate and helpful. Its only $13 and its super easy.

If you can't/don't want to pay that. Check out the Live Curly Live Free website anyway. They have info on how to check your hair stats by yourself. HTH
