Question Hair seems stunted

Hello all My name is Shenetta and I have been natural for 3 years. I have never managed to get my hair to grow past the stage its at now. I have tried many things to include wearing wigs to keep my hands out of it. I wanted to know what suggestions might you have to help grow my hair past the stage it's at now. I currently am using Kinky Curly it gives a nice pattern, but now i'm ready for the length to come please advise.

Shenetta, you have come to the right place. The ladies on this forum are a fount of information. However, they are not mind readers so I'm going to say what everyone else is thinking--what is your regimen? Do you shampoo, how often, with what, what other products do you use etc. In order for folks to help, they will need to know what you are doing to your hair. Also, how long is your hair stretched? Some folks seemingly have twa's and in fact have shoulder length hair. Lastly, you might want to also post this on the 4a section if you haven't already, due to the amount of traffic going on there.

Default Hair Care Products

Products:
In the Past I used - Shampoo- Shea Moisture Organic Shea Butter Curl & Shine Shampoo
Mist-Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist

I shampoo my hair every two weeks.

I now use:
Kinky Curly Shampoo, and the Kinky Curly Custard Gel as well. I have read much about the Jamican Black Castor Oil, but not sure how to use as a daily regement. Also considering making my own Gel from Flake Seed

Are you moisturizing under the wig on a daily basis? Also your hair may be fine and break off easily. I know any commercial gels actually break my hair off, with the exception of homemade flax seed gel because it's so light.

I know it has a lot to do with your diet too... you may want to take some hair vitamins or your hair could be in the "telogen" stage.. meaning that your hair has stopped growing. This can last for a few years or shorter, it depends.

The Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo is very drying so you may want to consider using something else for a whle. Also, you might want to consider cowashing once a week. Lastly, does your hair feel moisturized with the Kinky Curly? I love the product but sometimes my hair feels super dry if I don't use a leave in conditioner under it. Lastly, you should sleep with a satin pillow case or bonnet at night.
